Community Guidelines and Submission Review

This project is intended to create a welcoming, respectful public collection of photos, reflections, and community contributions. To help protect participants, staff, artists, visitors, and the wider public, all submissions may be reviewed before they are published or displayed.

Submitting material does not guarantee that it will be included. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to decline, remove, edit for length or clarity, or not display any submission at any time.

We may choose not to publish or may remove submissions that include, suggest, promote, or link to:

  • Threats, intimidation, harassment, bullying, or personal attacks
  • Hate language, slurs, demeaning stereotypes, or discriminatory content directed at a person or group
  • Graphic, violent, or sexually explicit content
  • Profanity, vulgar language, or content inappropriate for a public, community-facing project
  • Defamatory, false, or misleading claims about another person or organization
  • Private or identifying information about another person without consent
  • Commercial advertising, fundraising appeals, spam, or unrelated promotional content
  • Illegal activity or encouragement of harm
  • Content that appears to exploit, endanger, or target minors or vulnerable people
  • Any other material that we determine is inconsistent with the purpose, tone, safety, or community standards of the project

Moderation decisions are based on the content submitted, the context in which it appears, the safety of participants and the public, and the purpose of the project. We do not make publication decisions based on a submitter's race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status, political beliefs, or any other protected characteristic.

We may also decline to publish a submission if the photo quality, image permissions, authorship, consent, location information, or identifying details raise concerns. We may contact a submitter for clarification, but we are not required to do so.

The project is curated. It is not an open public forum, and no person is entitled to have a submission published. We may change these guidelines or remove content at any time in order to protect the integrity, safety, and purpose of the project.

Use of Automated Review Tools

To help review submissions efficiently and consistently, we may use automated tools, including AI-assisted screening, to help flag content that may not meet these guidelines. This may include content that appears to contain hate language, harassment, threats, sexual content, graphic or violent material, profanity, private information, spam, or other material that may be unsafe, inappropriate, unlawful, or inconsistent with the purpose of the project.

AI-assisted screening is used as a support tool and does not guarantee that every concern will be identified or that every flagged submission will be excluded. The project team may review flagged submissions and may make final decisions about whether a submission is published, edited, declined, or removed.

By submitting content, you understand and agree that your submission may be processed through automated or AI-assisted review tools as part of the moderation and publication process.
